Let's talk prices.

You may have seen from the website and our social media that we aren't just about cool bird logos or being super good at DIY…okay, we are kind of about that.

We have a mission. For one, we are a worker's co-operative. That means everyone who works here gets the same say as everyone else. When we say we put people before profits we mean it.

The other part to that is making our prices affordable for everyone.

But, how does that work in practice?

We have to make choices. We won't lie, it's expensive to run a shop. Our big costs will be wages, rent, keeping the place warm and our insurance happy.

So we are making compromises. Our staples, (milk, eggs, flour, rice, vegetables etc) will always be as low priced as we can keep them. We'll even tell you how much we paid for them if you are interested!

Our higher priced items will be things like treats, juices, fancy olive oils, and cheeses. This is where we make some extra coins to stay open with affordable prices.

We know this isn't a perfect solution. We believe everyone deserves good food not just those who can afford it. So we will be opening up a pay it forward scheme to help everyone have access to all our stock, no matter the price.
